I’ve stripped down my World of Warcraft Addons to the bare minimum essentials just to avoid the slow loading and errors. Although I would still really like to use Out of Date Addons like Damage Meters, I decided to stick with the updated Addons that matches the current WoW.

Here are the 5 World of Warcraft Addons I can’t let go as I consider these a must have, just to make life in WoW a little easier:

1. Postal
This Mail Addon allows me to open everything in my mailbox all at once! I simply can’t go back to opening each mail individually, especially if I’ve sold and bought 30+ things from the auction house.

2. Auctionator
My husband swears by Auctioneer but I found that to be too bulky with things I don’t need. Auctionator is light weight and much easier to deal with so this is what I use to manage my auctions.

3. MozzFullWorldMap
This addon shows undiscovered areas on the map in blue, which is so handy especially for those without a flying mount. Without this addon, the map is just blank until you go there. Here’s a sample of the same area with and without MozzFullWorldMap:

4. Deadly Boss Mods
Alerts you during Boss fights in dungeons, has raid warnings, timer in Battlegrounds when things will be captured and it doesn’t use a lot of memory.

5. Titan Panel
A panel which sits on top or bottom of the screen which has useful info including how much gold you have, your location, how much xp you get per hour and more.

For my Healer, I’ve gotten used to Healbot and can’t do without it. For my DPS, I am now using Recount instead of the lightweight Damage Meters. I have long since abandoned Quest Helper and Mob Map even though they were quite useful. They seem to use a lot of memory which slows my gaming.

Other Addons I use are Alpha Map, Cooldowns, Bagnon and Ratings Buster but if they disappear all of a sudden, I don’t think I’d make too much of a fuss over it. Other popular Addons which I’ve tried and can do without are Outfitter, Omen Threat Meter, Gearscore and Quartz.

Most of these Addons are availabe at Curse.com.

It’s been over a month since the Celestial Steed Mount hit the World of Warcraft store and been made available to WoW players. It hasn’t been that long but by the looks of things, the general WoW population have reverted back to the usual mounts they were comfortable in using before the shiny celestial mount came out.

The first few days of release, everywhere you look there was someone riding one of these. It was bumper to bumper steed in major cities but now, the dazzling celestial steed stands out in the crowd, just like how it should be!

I knew this mount would be perfect for my Barbie doll Blood Elf Mage so my husband bought me one on the first day. Razzamatazz happily stashed her flying carpet in the bank to be replaced by this shiny winged horse.

Random Info about the Celestial Steed Mount:

Apparantly, Blizzard made over $2 million dollars on the first few hours of this mount being released.

It’s born from the Twisting Nether, which is in the Outlands part of the World of Warcraft.

The speed of this mount is capable of going up to 310% if the player has one other existing mount with 310% speed.

Some of the reaction from WoW players when this came out was similar to a catastrophic event. The WoW forums were plagued with Hate and I Quit threads simply because people can now buy a mount to use in the game.

When you buy a Celestial Steed, all the characters in your account will have it available as their mount. This even includes any characters you create in future. Awesome.

Here’s the link to the Blizzard Store where you can Buy a Celestial Steed Mount.

Here are some of the things I did to earn enough gold that I was able to get Artisan and Cold Weather Flying for my 3 Level 80 characters in World of Warcraft. (Artisan is required to ride Epic Mounts and is 4000 Gold and Cold Weather Flying is to gain ability to fly in Northrend and is 1000 Gold).

1. Collect Small Eggs and Sell in the Auction House

Good for Lowbies. You don’t need to have a Profession for this.

My main characters are all Horde and they managed to get plenty of Gold even at low levels (below level 10) because I got them to farm Small Eggs at Eversong Woods (home of the Blood Elves). They drop from Crazed Dragonhawks and the drop rate is 100%. The average price used to be 2 gold for a stack of 20, these days they can go up to 10 gold for a stack of 20. During the Christmas period when people need them for recipes, they can go up to 50 gold for a stack of 20.

Here is where you’ll find crazed dragonhawks in Eversong Woods:

Here’s what the crazed dragonhawks look like:

My Alliance characters went to Azuremyst Isle to gather Small Eggs from various Owl Beasts and Timberstriders.

2. Gather Herbs and Sell at the Auction House

For Lowbies, Herbalism is the best profession to get as you don’t need any equipment for this.

You simply gather various herbs and sell them at the Auction House. Even when you get to high levels, this is a guaranteed gold maker. Plus, you won’t go broke being a herbalist unlike some professions where you spend a lot buying materials.

3. Gather Cloth and Sell at the Auction House

By now, you should get the drift that whatever you acquire, you sell at the Auction House to make Gold.

Cloth are always needed by for certain professions or for making bandaids or gaining reputation in factions. Some cloth are worth more than others, like wool cloth. People tend to buy these no matter how expensive they get because some just can’t be bothered farming them. Cloth usually drops from general NPC mobs around the place, including dungeons.

Wool Cloth in Horde Spinebreaker

Alliance sell wool cloth cheaper in the same server, Spinebreaker.

4. Make or Break Stuff and Sell at Auction House

Level up in a couple of professions, make or break stuff and sell it at the auction house.

This is how I regularly make gold for my Tailor. Make Bags and Sell.

My first main was able to get all her riding training when it was still more expensive than what they are now because she sold heaps and heaps of bags! Particularly, Netherweave bags. They used to be sold for 5 to 6 gold each, now you will see them being sold for up to 18 gold a bag. You can either farm for the cloth or buy them. I used to just buy them when netherweave cloth was going for 2 gold for a stack of 20. Bags sell very quickly because people are always creating alts and they need bags for them. All the time!

I used to make bags in between battlegrounds and get notifications that they’re sold during the battleground. They sold like hotcakes!

My suggestion for Enchanters… Disenchant Materials and Sell!

I also had a low level alternative character who helped my first main get her Artisan Riding. What I did was buy 30 gold worth of green items at the auction house, disenchanted them and sold the materials at the auction house. I still do this every now and then and I usually make 50 to 80 gold profit per round.

5. Do Battlegrounds, Buy Epic Gems and Sell at Auction House

This is for those who end up spending most of their time doing Battlegrounds.

These days, you can gather Honor Points so easily compared to before the Random Battlegrounds. Epic Gems are 10 000 Honor Points each and you can sell these for around 100 to 130 gold at the auction house. If you’re a Jewel Crafter, turn them into Epic Gems for Item Slots like Bold Cardinal Ruby or Smooth King’s Amber, etc. Some of these used to be sold for over 200 gold each. There has been a considerable drop rate as of late and they are now being sold for around 100 to 130 gold each.

6. Create Epic Jewel Items and Sell at Auction House

This is how my Jewel Crafters made a lot of gold.

Titanium Rings and Necklaces used to sell for 2000 gold each but now they are down to an average of 700 gold. This is still a good way to get a lot of gold. I was able to take advantage of the high prices before, that’s how I was able to get the Artisan Training for my other 2 main characters. I was even able to buy Rep Mounts that was for 3000 gold each. There are also low level jewel items that sell for 15 to 30 gold each.

7. Farm Dungeons and Sell Drops at Auction House

If you have mid to high level characters, solo dungeons like Scarlet Monestary and sell the drops you get at the Auction House. Even Stormwind is good for the wool cloth.

8. Daily Quests

You don’t have to sell stuff at the auction house to get gold. If you have level 70+, you can do Dailies around Northrend. Each Daily Quest pays around 9 to 13 gold each. I usually do the ones in Grizzly Hills for Warsong Hold as they are close proximity to each other, including the ones in Venture Bay. If you don’t have Wrath of the Lich King, Isle of Quel’danas is still a good place to rake in gold from dailies.

9. Make Food and Sell at Auction House

This is for those who can Cook.

Whether you farm the meat yourself or buy at the auction house, make food that buffs and sell for stacks of 10 or 20. High level food can sell for 20 to 50 gold for a stack of 20. Maybe even more depending on the demand.

10. Buy Materials at Vendors and Sell at Auction House

I normally take advantage of World events, especially anything which involves cooking recipes. I buy simple ingredients like Simple Flour and sell it for a ridiculous amount. These things only cost coppers and I sold a stack of 20 for 10 gold. Some people are too lazy or don’t even know you can buy this at a general or trade vendor, which are usually just next door to the auction house.

Other things I’ve sold are Ice Cold Milk, threads (like eternium and runed), recipes from vendors and corpse dust (this is for Death Knights and a lot of the newbies don’t know where to get them so they buy it from the auction house). Sell them for 5 to 10 times its normal price and you’re as good as gold.

There are guides and things available on the internet you can buy to find out how other people make their gold, like Warcraft Supreme, which was written by several hard core WoW players, who claim they have conquered just about everything in WoW.

This is Complete Gold Guide is for those who don’t have time to experiment how to get more gold in WoW and want to know which methods of earning gold actually work.

All up, having Gold in World of Warcraft gives you an advantage just like having money in real life! The more you have, the easier it is to get things.

I’ve been meaning to start a blog about World of Warcraft for years now and I’m finally getting around to it! I wanted to capture screen shots of what Azeroth is like now before Cataclysm comes out, before they change the whole look and feel of the current World of Warcraft.

As of today, May 2010, these are my characters in the server I use, which is Spinebreaker.

The Mages

I created 3 types of mages before the dual talent spec came out to try them all out. My first main character ever is Razzamatazz and she’s the one I still play the most up to this day.

RAZZAMATAZZ

Level 80 Arcane Mage

Mostly PVP play, both Arena and Battlegrounds

Professions: Tailoring and Jewelcrafting

Created back in October 2006 during Burning Crusade.

Most Memorable Moments:

1. Killing a Druid who stealthed to gank me in Isle of Quel’Danas back when it was constantly busy and when the max level for characters was 70. During that time when mages weren’t as good as they are now, I got ganked by stealthers a lot of the time.
2. The endless Test of Lore chain of Quests with my husband’s character, Wildstallion.
3. PvP in Halaa, Nagrand when it was busy there. Good times.
Elite Dragon invasion in Orgrimmar. It may have been from a raid.

SUNSTORM

Level 74 Fire Mage

Still leveling. Was mostly a banker for quite some time. Made gold for my characters with his Enchanting Profession.

Professions: Enchanting and Engineering

Most Memorable Moments:

1. Falling for that “Type /AFK” trick in the battleground early on in my newbie days.
2. Getting the “Flamekeeper” title last year.
3. Constant Epic Fail in Alterac Valley as Horde during when he was in the level 50 brackets. We hardly ever won a game!

ICESCREAM

Level 16 Ice Mage

On the shelf and has been for quite some time. Liked the name and thought it would be good for an ice mage.

Professions: Currently Jewelcrafting and Enchanting. Will change to Archeology when Cataclysm comes out. Perhaps will also try out Inscription.

Most Memorable Moments:

1. Tried playing Warsong Gulch at level 11 and I got this dude sending me whispers of how much I sucked. It was when Horde was getting arse whipped by the opposing team and we pretty much all sucked. I’m guessing he decided to whisper me because I was very low level. Boohoo for Icescream.

SHADOWFEET

Level 62 Beast Master Hunter

Started off as a Rogue but couldn’t stand it so I rerolled her into a Hunter and never looked back. I play this occasionally and I always find the Hunter easy and fun to play.

Professions: Mining and Engineering

Most Memorable Moments:

1. Turning into a zombie during the zombie day era.
2. Killing a Warlock 4 levels higher than me who was trying to gank me when I was surrounded by NPC mobs. I also killed its pet. When the lock rezzed, I killed it again. Classic. This was 3. in Arathi Highlands while killing owl beasts for a quest.
4. The attack of elite Ahn’Qiraj mobs in Camp Mojache, Feralas when the Ahn’Qiraj Gates were opened. I was constantly mind controlled and attempted to kill other Horde players in the area.

CHUPACHUPS

Level 80 Restoration Druid

Built to PVE and now a bit of PVP Arena.

Had fun leveling this one up. No problems getting into teams because she’s a healer. Throughout while she was leveling and up, until her resillience got a bit higher, she died easily when ganked by rogues and hunters.

Professions: Skinning and Herbalism

Memorable Moments:
1. Getting the Amabassador title at level 60.
2. First time she got ganked by a rogue in Feralas. Gathered 6 mobs to AoE and a rogue a few levels below me joined in and I died.
3. Getting the bronze dragon drop at Old Stratholme. Nobody else wanted it so I got it. Sweet.

VAVAVOOM

Level 80 Unholy Death Knight

Originally a Warlock but couldn’t stand it, so I rerolled it to a Death Knight when Wrath of the Lich King came out. Has mostly been on the shelf since hitting level 80.

Professions: Alchemy and Jewelcrafting

Memorable Moments:

1. Started the Death Knight on the very first day WotLK came out. So many Death Knights running around – it was mass confusion and total chaos! Simply awesome!
2. When she finally got exhalted to Wyrmrest Accord and was able to get the Red Drake.
3. Doing the For the Horde achievement to get the Black War Bear.

CHUBBYCHEEKS

Level 31 Holy Priest

Originally created just to see what the Alliance team is like in Spinebreaker. Also wanted to see the Alliance side of things before Cataclysm.

Professions: Enchanting and Herbalism

Most Memorable Moments:

1. Standing in Dalaran to help out those who wanted the achievement for Shake Your Bunnymaker during the Pilgrim World Event. It required a female Dwarf Priest and apparantly, female dwarves are a rarity. Let alone a Priest.

I have several other Alliance in Blackrock but I’ve totally neglected them. They were created for supposedly teaming up with one of my husband’s friends, who introduced us to WoW. But it never really happened, so the hubby and I just stick to our home turf, Spinebreaker.
